Police officers in Kisumu county are probing an incident where a nursery school pupil was allegedly sexually abused while at the learning facility.
According to the mother of the victim, she realized that the 4-year-old middle-nursery-class girl who is a pupil at a church-based school might have been defiled earlier this week.
The mother noted that she realized some fluids in her daughter' private parts while bathing her after school.
She said that the girl would later open up to her, saying that the perpetrator had threatened her against mentioning what had happened to anyone spelling consequences.
When she was taken for medical tests, it was confirmed by medics at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital that she had been indeed defiled.
Officers at the Kisumu Central Police Station also confirmed the incident before accompanying the lady and her husband to the school for more questioning on Thursday.
However, the resolution of the meeting remains unclear as the school failed to address the media on the same amid allegations by the mother that the school was non-committal towards addressing the issue.
The mother revealed that the school administration was reluctant to punish the alleged perpetrator, as reported by the Citizen Digital.
The school is located along the Kisumu Nairobi Highway.
