Residents of Lesos area in Uasin Gishu county were left in shock after a woman stripped and showed her 22-year-old son her private parts in the name of cursing him.
The lady, Jane Karitu, who many claims is a drunk stripped and remained only with her inner wear at their home.
"She was angry at the son and wanted to place a curse on him. According to their culture, if a mother strips in front of the son, he is cursed," Rhoda who had witnessed the drama said.
The son only identified as Rodgers had allegedly annoyed his mother by sneaking girls into the house and dropping out of school. Her mother was annoyed to the extent of wanting to curse him.
"Rodgers has for a long time been giving his parents a headache. At times he gets arrested, other times steals stuff. But this time around he was caught with a girl in their parents' house," Rhoda, a neighbor, explained.
The woman was however drunk and most of the villagers believe she acted under the influence of alcohol. Though she had all the reason to be angry, locals who witnessed the bizarre incident said she went a little bit far with her actions.
"Rodgers was not right in his actions, but Jane went overboard. She should not have done what she did. It was wrong," another witness noted.
The angry woman was eventually calmed down as the son disappeared in embarrassment.
