Writing an impressive Curriculum Vitae (CV) is very important when applying for a job opportunity.
You should polish your CV and ensure that you are as honest as possible since any dishonesty may lead to disqualification or losing an already secured opportunity.
In Kenya, a Curriculum Vitae is used primarily when applying for academic, education, scientific, medical, or research positions and can also be used when applying for the above positions outside the country.
Here are five things you should include in your CV;
Contact details
Include your phone number, email address and those of close people they can be reached to whenever you are not available. Your contact details should look professional and employers will use them to locate you.
Your experience
You should list all the employers you have worked for and the period you worked for them. You should also be frank and state if you have never been employed anywhere. This will show your skills and strength in the field.
Qualifications
You should be clear on your education details. State what you are qualified in and ensure that they match with the job you are applying for.
Proper spelling
Ensure that you use proper spellings and punctuations. To achieve this, use spell check applications which can be installed on mobile phones or computers.
Referees
Include the addresses of your referees who can be contacted by your employer. Ensure that you notify them so that they can answer anything accordingly whenever they are contacted.
