Speaking on Tuesday morning during the NTV AmLive, the Ombudsman emeritus pointed out that Parliament is to blame on the weak laws in the country.

"After the new constitution was enacted there was an attempt to bring an anti-corruption act, that was very fundamental, but Parliament then watered it down," said Otiende Amollo.

He further reiterated the need for the country to back the war on graft since it will stabilize the economy of the nation.

He applauded the intentions by the Director of Public Prosecution Noordin Haji on the fight against corruption.

The legislator, however, asked the DPP not to place all focus on the media but instead avoid showing his intentions on the media all through.

"I like the mind and intention of DPP Noordin Haji but that intention cannot be prosecuted through the media all the time but in court," added the legislator.

The DPP together with the DCI have been ensuring suspects are brought to book on crimes committed with the fight on graft taking precedence especially after receiving support from the president.
