Villagers of Kimahindi location in Tharaka Nithi have killed area OCS, hours after killing area chief Japheth Majau, in what is growing to be a row between the locals and local administrators.
Chuka OCS Joseph Kinyua had visited the area in pursuit of suspects in the lynching of the chief alongside his officers on Wednesday evening.
However, was lynched alongside one officer after they allegedly shot dead a villager, in an incident that happened in Ungweri village, within the same location.
The OCS and the officer was hacked to death by unknown persons, reports the Citizen Digital.
On Tuesday evening, the villagers pounced on the chief and slashed him to death, apparently to avenge a fellow villager who was allegedly killed by his brother Gikware Mukengu.
The villagers are accusing Mukengu who of murdering a villagers, Gitonga Kabuibe in December last year of detaining his goats.
Kabuibe's skeleton was found near Thuci River three weeks ago.
The chief met his death when he visited Mukengu's homestead, at the same time when the villagers had stormed the homestead baying for his brother's blood and on seeing him, they pounced on him and killed him.
Mukengu managed to escape the attack.
