A last-minute meeting on Monday between Governor John Nyagarama and Finance Minister Jackline Momanyi prevailed upon the latter to rescind resignation decision.
Sources within the county government intimate that Ms. Momanyi, who was frustrated over budget standoff, had written resignation letter even though she disputed.
"I am not aware of the so called resignation. Whoever with evidence should come out open and table it," she said.
But Nyagarama summoned the embattled County Executive Committee member to his Tente home where he discussed the matter with her.
According to a source privy to the meeting, Nyagarama persuaded the minister to retract the decision adding that he would ready to solve the standoff.
"She held a meeting with the governor and they all agreed that resignation was not important. They agreed that she continues executing her duties," said the source.
On Friday, Ms. Momanyi was among ministers who attended a cabinet meeting at the governor's residences in Nyamira.
The County Assembly had reportedly increased its budgetary allocations by 5 per cent contrary to the law thus causing the quagmire.
