Generally, screening for your health is very important as it will help you know about the impending diseases and how to protect yourself as well. 

Here are the health screening every woman should have as quoted by Justin Laube, MD on everyday health

1.Cholesterol check

High cholesterol level can bring about heart diseases and stroke. Ideally, your cholesterol level should be less than 200 milligrams per deciliters. Any cholesterol level higher than this is a clear indication that you are not in a good shape. 

According to National Institutes of Health, it is important that you have cholesterol screen check after at least once every five years. 

2.Mammograms

This is a breast cancer screening test. Breast cancer is common among older women. The USPSTF has clearly stated that, women, starting from 50 years and above, should have mammograms every two years. 

On the other hand, The American Cancer Society further stipulated that women should start annual breast screening at age 45. Then at 55 years of age, they should switch to a biannual mammogram.

3.Blood-glucose test

This test helps in detecting the presence of diabetes and prediabetes. To all women, it is a recommendation that you get the test starting around age 45 in every three years. If any member of your family had diabetes or your are obese, it will better if you get screened more frequently.

Other screening include dental checkup, skin examination and colon cancer screening.
