For the past few weeks, Governor Okoth Obado has been tending over the alleged role he played in the murder of Rongo University student Sharon Otieno.
Much has been said about the two-time governor, but what many are yet to know is his highest level of education.
Governor Obado holds a Masters degree in Strategic Management from Kenyatta University.
He also has a first degree, Bachelors of Education from the same University, a second class upper division.
For his high school education, the Migori governor schooled at the St. Joseph’s Rapogi Secondary School in Migori county.
It can, therefore, be said that Obado has a strong academic and professional background even as the Sharon Otieno murder case is threatening to darken his blossoming political career.
Governor Zachary Okoth Obando before venturing into politics served as a long time teacher registered under the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
Just before being elected the Migori county governor, Obado worked as a manager at the Kenya Sugar Board.
However, in 2013, Obado contested in the Migori gubernatorial elections and won by a slight margin after downing ODM aspirant Oyugi.
He was popularly elected on a PDP party ticket.
