Former Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire now says Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i has taken shield in Gusii community to survive possible prosecution.
On Monday, his successor Amina Mohammed faulted his process on acquisition of Sh3.2 billion Ruaraka land, a move that could now give the DPP an okay to charge the minister.
And on a phone call, Bosire linked the recent push to have Matiang'i crowned as Gusii spokesman is the wider plot to hide from the DPP.
"He is good in blackmail and the president should come out and tell him off. He has been implicated in the land theft and should spare the community.
"We are aware that he has reached some MPs to push for his installation as Gusii community spokesman. That is a strategy to hide from the law," he said.
Those pushing for Matiang'i's coronation include Richard Onyonka (Kitutu Chache South), Sylvanus Osoro (South Mugirango), Richard Tong'i (Nyaribari Chache).
Last week, the MPs backed the minister for the lucrative post adding that his experience will guide the community in future.
