In July last year, the two leaders, in presence of Mombasa governor Hassan Joho, met at Vipingo Ridge where they held closed-door discussions whose details remain scanty.

And on Thursday night, the source who spoke in confidence says, Raila met the president for three hours from 9pm and discussed a raft of issues.

"I don't know what they discussed but I can assure you that they met for around three hours. They were alone at State House but such meetings are common nowadays.

"To be honest, I can't comment in cabinet reshuffle because I wasn't in that meeting. Though, I don't see the reason why that should worry anybody because ODM is supporting Big Four agenda," he said.

Earlier, Raila had landed directly from South Africa at Mombasa after ending his holiday at Windhok, Namibia. His decision to land at the coast directly has sparked speculations about an impending cabinet reshuffle.

A source within Deputy President campaign team also hinted that Uhuru summoned all Cabinet Secretaries to Mombasa and they are expected to comply with the directive on Friday (today).

During his interview with reporters in December, Uhuru lauded the Handshake with Raila Odinga, insisting that it had helped him restore order in government.

"The unity has helped me to deal with cartels who hide in their communities. We shall continue in that trend and that is the way to go," he said.
