Kenya Certificate for Primary Education (KCPE) results 2018 edition were credited, transparent and satisfactory, president Uhuru Kenyatta has said.
On Sunday, in what was perceived as a slip of the tongue, Uhuru preempted Monday's release of exam results thus preparing the nation.
"Earlier today I received the #KCPE2018 results from Education CS Amb. Amina Mohammed. I am satisfied with the process, report and results for this year's exam. We will ensure all our children get proper placement in secondary schools | @AMB_A_Mohammed," he wrote.https://twitter.com/UKenyatta/status/1064497542837280771?s=19.
While releasing the results in Mombasa, Education boss Amina Mohammed said over 12,000 candidates scored 400 marks and above, a 21 per cent increase from 2017 edition.
Further, she said, the ministry will not admit special examination for pregnant candidates, adding that parents have a role to play in guarding the student's moral standards.
"Parents have an obligation of ensuring children are safe especially during this holiday. That is what must be done," she said.
