Jomvu MP Badi Twalib Bady has asked residents of Msambweni and Malindi constituencies to remain calm and peaceful despite their legislators being expelled from the ODM party.
Msambweni MP Suleiman Dori and his Malindi counterpart Aisha Jumwa were last week expelled from ODM, a party they were elected on, in the 2017 general elections.
According to Bady, the issue is at national level and the constituents should give the legislators ample time to deliver their manifesto.
“Dori and Jumwa are loyal to the people who elected them and I do not see why their constituents should panic over the issue, they should be patient, calm, peaceful and give their leaders ample time to work," said Bady who was speaking on Radio Jambo's morning show on Monday.
He insisted that everybody has a right to express their political ideas and support parties or leaders of their choice as enshrined in the constitution.
Dori and Jumwa were expelled by the ODM executive amid what the party leadership described as disloyalty.
The two were found guilty of contravening the party's constitution by supporting a 2022 presidential hopeful from another political party (William Ruto).
The duo have however rejected the expulsion, citing the handshake, which allows engagement with other parties for the sake of national development and unity.
