Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko was a subject of discussion in various social media platforms in Nyamira following billboard mistakes along the streets of Nairobi.
Besides his eloquence in 'American accent', misspellings of Turkana (Turukana) and Industrialisation (Fundirisation), the County Government of Nairobi could not get the name of Kisii Senator right.
On the billboards, Senators Sam Ongeri and Ochillo Ayacko were both recognised as Migori leaders, thus causing a stir on social media.
"Good English poor spelling. Sonko could not even get these simple things. This is an embarrassment to the country," argued Nelly Mokua.
"It seems our Kisii brothers do not have a senator. They donates theirs to Migori. Sonko could be right. There are a lot of problems in Migori," added Nelson Osiemo, though sarcastically.
Nairobi County hosted the Blue Economy Conference that attracted leaders from across the world, an event that was steered by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Prof Sam Ongeri is the Kisii Senator while Ochillo was recently elected in Migori. Mr Ongeri is one of the most experienced politician from Gusii having made it to parliament in 1988.
