Deputy President William Ruto for the first time shocked his followers over his immense grip of Ekegusii dialect during his Saturday's tour to the region.
For the second time in over a week, Ruto pitched tent in Kitutu Chache North and Bobasi constituency where he asked MPs to support Gender Bill.
But before his speech, the DP easily greeted locals in mother tongue, stressing every word correctly and accurately to the amazement of worshippers.
"Abanto baminto mbuya more, mbuya more naende? Japan's, hii maneno hamuelewi. Nyasae nomuya?" he said.
It loosely translates to: "My brothers how are you? Do you really understand this? God is good? And all the time?"
After the greetings in local dialect, worshippers applauded the DP who proceeded on to call for more inclusion of women in leadership positions.
He asked MPs to support the Gender Bill, adding that it would seal the controversial constitutional requirement that has been in offing for a long time.
"We must support women leadership. This is the only way we can be a responsible society," he said.
The DP was accompanied by Governor James Ongwae, Joash Maangi, MPs Richard Onyonka, Richard Tong'i and Jimmy Angwenyi among other local leaders.
