The Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader dismissed claims that he plans to shelve his ambition in favor of another candidate eyeing the same seat in 2022.

Mutua termed the claims as false and misleading.

“It is malicious for people to start claiming that I am negotiating with certain people to quit the presidential race in 2022,” Mutua said.

He made the sentiments during an interview on Radio Citizen on Monday.

Mutua said his eyes are fixed on succeeding Uhuru in 2022.

He said nothing will make him quit the presidential race.

Mutua asked candidates eyeing the 2022 presidential seat to stop propaganda and instead brace themselves for the tight race.

He maintained that he has what it takes to win the presidency in 2022.

Mutua said Kenyans no longer vote based on political parties but on people’s ability to deliver development.
