The villagers have complained of increased attacks from the giant snakes, which they say have been preying on and attacking locals.

They have said that the pythons have been finding their way into the village from the nearby Lake Victoria, especially the beaches of Kobiero, Lwasi, Rawi and Oyaore beaches.

The situation was confirmed by area Assistant Chief David Opera, with the administrator saying that the snakes have been causing great discomfort among locals.

The latest incident reported was the recent attack on a middle aged man who was attacked while in his maize plantation, before locals killed the snake.

The administrator said that locals who own livestock are also having a hard time, as their animals are also under threat of attacks, reports the Citizen Digital.

He now wants the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) to intervene and salvage villagers from the predicament.
