President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday hosted 35 scholars from Harvard University at State House where they discussed the country's economic growth.

Uhuru met the dons shortly after commissioning Rivetex industry in Eldoret, where he outlined his vision of implementing the Big Four Agenda, key among them manufacturing.

"President Uhuru Kenyatta last evening hosted 35 professors from Harvard Business School, one of Harvard University’s prestigious graduate schools, shortly after flying back from Eldoret where he presided over the launch of the revamped Rivatex," State House reported.

The Head of State was buoyed by the presence of Adan Mohammed, the Minister for East Africa Community, an alumnus of Harvard Business School.

Uhuru said the country is moving in the right direction and that his administration is keenly implementing transformative development agenda.

"President Kenyatta said Kenya was moving in the right direction of progress and his administration was aggressively implementing a transformative development agenda to create prosperity for all," State House added.

The Havard team of scholars are in the country to learn from President Kenyatta's vision for the economic growth of Kenya and the wider African continent

Incidentally, the scholars are visiting the country amid a storm over 118 doctorate degrees awarded by Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology on Friday.

"How credible are the 118 PhDs awarded by JKUAT? Either they are FAKE, or academic standards there are near ZERO. Let’s end this academic FRAUD," Professor Makau Mutua observed.
