Murder suspects Jacque Maribe and her lover Joseph Irungu alias Jowie were on Wednesday forced to take a fresh plea after the prosecution introduced a new angle to the case.
State prosecutor Catherine Mwaniki told Justice James Wakiaga to amend the charge facing the two.
Mwaniki wanted the charge amended to read that: “Jacqueline Wanjiru Maribe and Joseph Kuria Irungu alias Jowie with others not before the court killed Monica Kimani.”
The defense did not oppose the new angle to the case.
The suspects took a fresh plea and denied the charge.
The hearing of a bail for the two was adjourned for 10 minutes to enable the defense served with a probation report over the bail matter.
The report was to detail the suspects’ conduct behind bars as well as the officer’s take on court granting them bail.
Maribe and Jowie are facing charges over the murder of Monica Kimani.
The 29-year-old woman was found brutally murdered in her house at Lamuria gardens.
On Wednesday, the two suspects appeared relaxed and well groomed.
Jowie had his bushy beards well-trimmed and Jacque’s wig coifed.
