Police in Siaya County are investigating an inicent where a suspected quack doctor allegedly caused the death of a patient before taking off.

Mark Anthony Olocho is said to have given an injection to Ngesa Oluda at Omindo Trading Center in Gem Sub-County, leading to the death of the 32-year-old.

The incident was confirmed by area Chief Nicholas Sogo who added that investigations are ongoing.

According to the Citizen Digital, the deceased had sought medicines at Olocho's clinic after being diagnosed at a nearby health center earlier.

However, the paper reported on Thursday, he missed the medication he needed, after which the accused convinced him to take an injection instead, an offer he accepted.

He immediately collapsed, started convulsing and died, as the accused ran away, pretending to be going to acquire a vehicle to take him to hospital bud did not return.

Weighing-in on the unfortunate incident, ACK Maseno West Diocese priest Reverend Frederick Oduor called upon Kenyans to rely on certified and if possible, government facility doctors.

He also urged the county government of Siaya to weed out such people, most of whom are said to be operating within villages.

The body of the deceased was taken to Rabuor Hospital Mortuary.
