Parents play an important role in their children's marriages. Before allowing your daughter to get hitched to that man, ensure that you ask him some serious questions about their relationship so that she doesn't end up with an immature man who won't treat her right.
The questions should include how ready he is to be committed to the marriage and how is going to deal with difficult issues in the relationship.
Here are three questions every father should ask their future son-in-law.
1. Are you ready for a lifelong commitment?
Marriage is a covenant that should last a lifetime. Let him assure you that he is ready to commit his life to your daughter and that he will do what it takes to ensure that their marriage is full of happiness.
2. What do you see in my daughter that makes you want to marry her?
This is a another critical question you should never miss to ask. You want to confirm if he is really into your daughter.
If he points out that her looks are the main reason why he wants to marry your daughter, this should raise an eyebrow. Try confirming if he is aware of the unique characteristics that distinguish her from other ladies.
3. How do you plan to financially support my daughter?
Don't allow your daughter to walk down the aisle with just any man. The man for your daughter doesn't necessarily need to be wealthy but able to support and provide for the family. Try finding out the state of his job and what his future goals are.
