Days after Nakuru West MP Samuel Arama was locked up over fraudulent land deals, another Jubilee MP could be arrested soonest.
Mr Joash Nyamoko of North Mugirango is now facing troubles over Sh16 million reportedly lost from the County Assembly of Nyamira during his tenure as speaker.
Detectives are investigating circumstances under which the MP was paid Sh6 million and the irregular payment of Sh10 million paid to a section of MCAs irregularly.
"He will first face the senate to clear air but detectives have been probing the matter. The former clerk Daniel Orina was suspended over the same.
"Whether he appears in senate or not, he will have to face detectives and could be arrested any time to help in investigations," a senior county assembly worker said.
Nyamoko, a close ally of the deputy president William Ruto took over in 2014 before joining parliament in 2017 on Jubilee ticket.
At a funeral last Sunday, Nyamoko hit back at the current county assembly leadership, arguing that it's a let down to the people of Nyamira.
"We need serious conversation on our leadership. The assembly has failed to deliver it's mandate and people are unhappy," he said.
Efforts to reach him for comment on the latest development were futile since he could not pick phone calls.
