The unidentified male bodies were discovered by passers-by on Thursday morning, resulting to shock among area residents.

West Pokot Sub County Police Commander Julius Kyumbule confirmed the incident and said that the corpses did not have signs of injury. He noted that the three could have been killed elsewhere and their bodies dumped in the area the previous night.

However, Kyumbule noted that blisters were discovered on their hands, with preliminary investigations indicating that their hands might have been tied as they were being suffocated to death.

"The bodies are yet to be identified and preliminary investigations indicate that the deceased persons could have been murdered elsewhere and their bodies dumped during the night along the busy highway," the Sub County Police Commander was quoted by the Standard.

The police boss said investigations have been launched into the issue even as the security agencies have intensified patrols along the highway.
