Addressing journalists in Machakos town on Tuesday, Kalembe said that it's wrong for Mutua to mind about issues of other counties yet there's more to be done in Machakos.

He told the county boss to let the National Museum worry about the statues since they are not helping the country at all.

"Governor Mutua should stop minding about Nairobi statues, that is not his area of jurisdiction. We have the Kenya National Museum which was handed the statues to take care of. Mutua should focus on working on his county," said Kalembe.

"He promised us showers, Machakos city which was launched by the President, Machakos road dual carriage and many other projects. I have seen none yet. I am a Machakos resident," he said.

The former MP also reminded the governor that Machakos people were watching and that after his term, they will hold him accountable.

Kalembe said Mutua should hasten and work for the remaining two years and avoid unnecessary sideshows.

On Tuesday, the Machakos governor was in Nairobi where he lamented that statues of national heroes had been neglected and promised to personally take care of them.
