Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua's political move after the completion of his second term in office will to some extent influence the 2022 Presidential results.
Mutua is considered one of the greatest threats to former Vice President Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka as he seeks to ascend to power in 2022.
The second time governor has already hinted at contesting for the nation’s top seat.
Kalonzo and Mutua will share the Kamba vote if they both decide to contest for the post when that time comes.
The two leaders enjoy massive support from their backyards hence it will not be easy for any of them to win the hearts of the people if they both choose to throw themselves in the race.
Mutua could also deal Kalonzo a huge blow if he agrees to play second fiddle to Deputy President William, ODM leader Raila Odinga or Baringo Senator Gideon Moi.
He could take a huge junk of the Kamba votes to his side if the current political situation is anything we can go by.
Both Kalonzo and Mutua have maintained that they have what it takes to be President.
Kalonzo has served in the second highest office of the land while Mutua has been hailed on several occasions because of his amazing performance scoreboard.
