Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana on Tuesday met a delegation from Germany that visited the county on a bench marking tour.
Kibwana said the legislators from German parliament discussed several issues with Makueni county government officials.
He said both the delegations from Germany and Makueni learned various aspects in regards to devolution from each other.
Kibwana said he was impressed at the rate of development witnessed in different counties following the 2010 Constitution's adoption.
“Privileged to host a delegation of Members of German Parliament #Bundestag in Makueni, who are in Kenya to learn about the country's devolution system of governance. We also got a chance to learn from them some best practices on successful devolution implementation,” he said.
Kibwana presided over the Movement for Community-Led Development project's launch in the county last week.
The project is geared towards ensuring that women, men and youth are empowered in their respective capacities.
Kibwana took to social media to share the project's details.
"The launch of the Community-Led Development Movement- Kenyan chapter heralds the passing of the button to the people of Kenya to make the dream of devolution a reality," Kibwana said.
