Deputy President Dr William Samoei Ruto on Wednesday visited Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o at the Agha Khan Hospital in Nairobi.
The DP was accompanied by various leaders, among them Kakamega Governor who doubles up as Chairman of the Council of Governors’ Wycliffe Oparanya, Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murokomen and Alego Usonga Member of Parliament (MP) Samuel Atandi among others.
“Paid Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o a hospital visit. Pleased that he is responding well to treatment and wished him a speedy and full recovery,” said the DP via his twitter handle.
ODM Party leader Raila Odinga also visited Nyong’o in hospital. The governor was discharged shortly after the leaders visited him after his conditioned stabilised.
The good news comes a few days after the governor was booked at Kisumu Aga Khan Hospital after complaining of discomfort and dizziness during the installation ceremony of the new Kisumu Catholic Church Archdioceses Archbishop Philip Subira Anyolo at the Uzima University College Grounds on Saturday.
He was later diagnosed with low blood pressure and put on bed rest as doctors insisted he was in a stable condition.
"The governor has been flown to Nairobi for conclusive tests. We kept him in the hospital overnight. Though he is stable, we need to carry out further tests. We did not have conclusive results," the hospital's Medical Superintendent Sam Oula told members of the Press on Sunday.
He was discharged and is yet to visit his county after full recovery as communicated by the county communications director.
