The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Amollo Odinga has finally broken his long silence over criminal charges facing two governors linked to high profile criminal cases.
Responding to the charges facing Governor Obado of Migori county and Ali Korane of Garissa county, Raila said the law should run its course and justice be done.
“It is very unfortunate that a young woman and her little angel were brutally murdered with a sitting governor being the main suspect. If those killers didn’t want the child or even the mother they would have just spared their lives and allow them live. I hear that another governor from North Eastern is also facing a similar criminal case. Everyone involved in any criminal act should just face the full force of the law,” Raila stated.
Raila's sentiments come at a time when pressure is piling up for Governor Korane to be arrested and prosecuted over the recent shooting of former Finance CEC Idris Mukhtar of Garissa county.
Friends and relatives of Mukhtar now want Korane to be arrested and remanded as Governor Obado even as detectives wind up their investigations.
