According to political analyst Peter Ngure, DP Ruto is among top politicians who have high chances of taking over the country’s leadership in 2022.
The analyst says that DP Ruto is a strategist and has a team of politicians who could make his dream come true in 2022.
North Eastern is among the regions the Deputy President will be banking on for votes in 2022.
The region is one of the places the DP has frequented since their re-election in 2017.
Last year, DP Ruto made more than three state visits to Garissa and other parts of Northern Kenya launching development projects and giving out goodies to locals.
Here are four politicians from North Eastern who are likely to lead DP Ruto’s 2022 campaigns.
1. Aden Duale
Political analysts described Garissa Township MP as the engine in DP Ruto’s 2022 campaigns.
The leader of Majority in the National Assembly is a close ally and confidant of the Deputy President.
Duale has been quoted saying that the 2022 presidential election will be a one-horse race with DP Ruto taking the leadership.
2. Ali Korane
The Garissa Governor is among DP Ruto’s closest allies in northern Kenya.
Since taking over office in 2017, Governor Korane has hosted DP Ruto in Garissa more than two times.
3. Ali Roba
The Mandera governor is serving his final term in office.
He is among North Eastern politicians who vigorously campaigned for President Kenyatta re-election in 2017.
A close ally of DP Ruto, Roba is expected to rally Somali’s to vote for the Deputy President in 2022.
4. Adan Keynan
The Eldas MP is also a close ally of the Deputy President.
The veteran politician could be among DP Ruto’s campaign team in 2022.
