Residents of Omobiri area in South Mugirango Constituency, Kisii County, on Wednesday gifted area MP Sylvanus Osoro for the commendable job he is doing in the area.
The joyous residents led by Jonah Ondieki lauded the MP for his hard work and determination in transforming the constituency in terms of development.
"We decided to gift the MP with a goat and some bananas so that he can go and slaughter the goat and make banana soup. As constituents, we are happy with his good work and the gifts will enable him to get more energy to continue serving us," he said.
Lukas Basweti, a resident, said he decided to harvest his bananas from the farm and present them to the MP as a gift.
"It is important to appreciate someone's good work. MP Osoro is a good leader and he deserves motivation. We will continue giving him gifts to motivate him so that he can work to make the constituency shine," said Basweti.
This comes after the MP braved the heavy rains to commission a new classroom block at Omobiri Secondary School.
The MP further promised to replace the blackboards in all the schools in the constituency with whiteboards.
