After a candid address at Kisii School during the International Youth Day, Uhuru would preside over opening of newly built Gusii Stadium that is hosting KICOSCA games at Kisii County.

There was delay since orgnaisers had not put ribbon for launching anywhere until the president opted for spot kick, which governor James Ongwae had volunteered to be a temporary goal keeper.

When he positioned himself to take the penalty in presence of thousands of cheering fans, Uhuru, a former Rugby player at St. Mary's School, sent Ongwae to wrong side further thrilling the crowd.

"My government is keen to uplift youths through talent search and business. This is why millions are set aside virtually in all departments. We want to reduce unemployement rate," said the Head of State.

"Through such skills, youths will now determine their future. I also urge counties to invest in projects that are youth friendly for the sake of helping these young people," he told onlookers.

The stadium will play host to former KPL heavyweights Shabana FC currently playing Nationwide league after short spell in the Kenya Premier League.

During the event, the president was accompanied by tens of local leaders led by Ongwae and Nyamira County boss John Nyagarama, who was making his return after a long illiness.
