A family in Maai Mahiu, Naivasha sub-county is mourning the death of a boy aged 13 years after he was electrocuted.
According to the residents, the standard six pupil climbed an electricity pole and touched live electricity line on Friday.
Area police boss Ezra Sambu confirmed the incident and urged parents to advise their children not to play near electricity wires.
"I think the boy was not aware of the danger he was exposing himself to", said the police boss.
The deceased was in a group of young herders in the grazing fields, where they had taken their animals.
The body was taken to Naivasha hospital morgue.
