Police in Naivasha have arrested a thirteen year old boy in connection with the sexual abuse and murder of two minors in the sprawling Karagita estate.

The suspected pedophile was arrested by sleuths investigating the two murders which have left area residents rearing in anger and fear.

The arrest came a day after area leaders and parents expressed their concern over rising cases of abdication targeting minors.

Two minors have so far been abducted, sexually abused and murdered in Karagita estate while the third one was rescued, treated and discharged.

And over the weekend, a three year old minor was rescued along the Gilgil-Nyahururu road after she was abducted in Site estate in Naivasha.

Following the rising cases CID offices moved in and arrested the primary school dropout in Karagita which is home to hundreds of flower farm workers.

Naivasha CID boss Martin Mbaya confirmed the arrest on Thursday adding that the teenager was assisting police with investigations.

He said that they had presented the suspect and at the Naivasha law courts and sought to hold him for some days as part of their investigations.

“We have a twelve year old boy in our custody and initial investigations point that he could be involved in the two murders in Karagita estate,” he said.

Mbaya called on members of the public to volunteer information to the police adding that this was the only way they could firmly deal with those involved in crime.
