Nyamira County senator Erick Okong'o has warned Interior Cs Fred Matiang'i against involving himself in Gusii politics.
According to the vocal senator, Matiang'i should focus on serving the people of Kenya as a Cabinet secretary and stop engaging in politics.
"Matiang'i should stop associating himself with the Gusii community's politics. He is a cabinet secretary who should work around the clock to ensure security of Kenyans is tight and their property is protected," he said.
The Senator said elected leaders from Gusii region should stop involving Matiang'i when making political decisions because he is not a politician.
He urged Matiang'i to order police to end cattle rustling in Nyamira County more specifically in Borabu.
"Cattle rustling should come to an end in Nyamira. Matiang'i must order police to intensify patrols in the the region to ensure cattle rustlers are flushed out from villages and bushes where they are hiding. Our people are living in fear yet Matiang'i is the Interior Cs," he noted.
Okong'o said he is vigilant and closely monitoring Nyamira County government on how the county is spending public funds.
