The Consortium of Researchers Organization yesterday released the results of research on governance by each governor as far as development was concerned.
In the results, Migori County governor Zachary Okoth Obado has been rated the best performing County Chief in Luo Nyanza, while his Siaya Counterpart Cornel Amoth Rasanga is the worst.
Governor Obado was ranked 1st in Luo Nyanza and 8th nationally after garnering 73% rating, ahead of Kisumu County Governor Professor Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o who got 69% approval rating.
Governor Nyong’o is ranked 12th nationally.
Homabay Governor Cyprian Otieno Awiti has been ranked 3rd in Luo Nyanza and 44th nationally with 36% rating, while Siaya’s Rasanga is the last in Luo Nyanza and 46th nationally with 33%.
According to the findings, Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya who also doubles up as the Chairman, Council of Governors is the best performing with 87%, followed by Kirinyaga’s Anne Mumbi Waiguru with 84% while Makueni’s Professor Kivutha Kibwana is the third with 83%.
Samburu’s Moses Kasaine is the last on the trot with 32 per cent.
The study was conducted between January 21 and February 20 with 6,891 being interviewed in all the 47 counties across the country.
