For a majority of Kenyan youth, their future depends on what they will do in their 20s.

This is the time they are fresh from college, no more pocket money and they have to hustle on their own in order to pay the bills.

There are mistakes that we can avoid in our 20s that might complicate our future life. Here are a few mistakes we can avoid:

1. Being listed in CRB Blacklist

With an increased number of mobile loan apps, people can easily access loans at different rates. But most youths who don't have a stable income find it had to repay the loan hence being blacklisted. This can deny you a chance to get bank loans in future.

A report from Transunion Credit Reference Bureau shows that 500,000 people are currently blacklisted with Credit Reference Bureaus (CRBs) up from 150,000 three years ago.

2. Spending recklessly

This is the time in life where you should not spend your coin in everything that appeals to your eye. Trending fashion and food should not push you hard to the extent that you are spending all your money on the latest fashion in the market.

3. Failing to budget

Budgeting for shopping, bus fare, food and rent will help you plan for your money and also create a room for saving. Never spend past your budget.
