If you are planning to visit your friends of relatives in Nyanza or you are about to get married in Nyanza, then you had better consider these.
Here are some of the traits with which you will find it hard surviving in the lakeside region.
1. 'Clean'
Well, his has nothing to do with hygiene but the tendency by some women, especially from the city, to appear clean at all times.
Here there are lands to be tilled, maize to be ground, houses to be thatched and long distances tonne covered on foot, leaving no space for them to keep long nails and apply cologne.
To live here, one must accept to be 'dirty' failure to which you will have to go back to the city.
2. Choosy
Life in most Nyanza villages can be pathetic if you are the type that takes time to adopt.
A good instance is my village in Kano Plains where you will have to eat what you find on the table even if it means traditional veggies which many hate.
You do not decide at what time to wake up unless you are a visitor and must get up early to prepare breakfast for the family.
Though it is the men who provide, it's the women who feed the family.
