On Wednesday Hivisasa published an article on how fraudsters are terrorizing Children Homes in Kisii in new syndicate.
The expose has prompted police to launch investigations into the racket.
In an urgent Meeting with Hivisasa at his office over the expose on Thursday evening, Kisii County Police Commander Martin Kibet called upon victims to volunteer and record statements with police regarding the issue.
"We are receiving such for the first time. It's unfortunate. The details in the story have given us limelight and I call upon victims to record statements with us to help us launch investigations," Kibet said.
Kibet, however, revealed that fraud and forgery of documents is a rooted problem in Kisii which they are bent on nailing.
Safe Havens Children Home director in Nyamataro Kisii, Steve Isoe who received the shocking investigative article has advised on how to counter and block such fraudsters from fraudulently using a children homes to solicit for donor funding.
"We can manage them. I have personally managed to deal with them. All home directors should register. Any time somebody tries to key in the name of your home, it sends an alert back. This is the only way out," he advised.
"The fraudsters have approached me severally for such deals but I know how to deal with them. They have tried using my home's name severally but the system always alerts me and I block them. They are many out here hungry for quick cash," added Isoe.
