Douglas Ogari, the head the Jubilee youth league in Kisii, said they are uniting with other leaders to receive the head of state, who will be opening upgraded facilities at the Kisii referral hospital.

“We’re putting aside our differences with the county administration to welcome President Kenyatta to Kisii, so that he can launch development projects,” he said during an exclusive interview.

Ogari, who helped the Jubilee Party pick up elective seats in the 2017 general elections, has been faulting the Ongwae's governance in recent months.

The president is set to visit Kisii on Wednesday and will launch a new oncology centre among other projects.

Before President Kenyatta postponed his visit to the county last month, local leaders held unity talks and agreed to work together in hosting the commander-in-chief.

Eighteen out of the 21 MPs, governors and senators from both Kisii and Nyamira attended the unity meeting.
