Living in a standard house in Nairobi means you will have to dig deep into your pocket to sustain the rent.
A single room, preferably a bedsitter, will range from Sh5,000 to Sh12,000 depending on where it is situated. With these rates, it is quite hard for a common mwanachi to rent a good multi-roomed house for the comfortability of their family.
Have you ever tried thinking of a life in a single room with your three kids, where you partition your room using an old curtain and your kids sleep on the floor?
The worst moment is when you need to enjoy the fruits of your marriage where it becomes hard and you have to wait for wee hours of the night when they are dead asleep.
And with the new technology, kids from 9 years old know what sex is and they will wait till late to listen to the bed quacks when daddy is making mum feel good in presence that they are asleep.
With this kind of lifestyle, children will gossip among themselves of how they heard their parents make weird noises.
“I live in a single room and when the kids are asleep on the coach, I will do it silently but my wife will at some point feel overwhelmed by hiding her feeling and she will scream. I have to often remind her that she has to keep quiet,” said James Karanja, a father of two.
"Enjoying your conjugal right while your children are asleep is as dangerous as smoking near spilt petrol. Your kids will at some point understand what happens and they will that with their mates," said Akinyi.
Unless you sneak from your job to have some good times with your spouse, when the kids are at school, you will always ‘steal’ sex like young adolescents.
