Many artists from Tanzania are famous in Mombasa due to the Swahili lifestyle the two regions share.

1. Tunda Sebastian Kisura

She is a Tanzanian socialite.

Clouds TV presenter Casto Dickson made his intention of marrying the ‘Salome’ video vixen three months ago.

2. Irene Uwoya

She is a renown Bongo movies actress and Diamond Platnumz's ex-lover.

She sparked controversy early this year after photos of her with her alleged 'Mpango Wa Kando' lying on a bed surfaced online. 

Sources said Uwoya oftenly had illicit affair with East African TV presenter Tbway, despite being married to Dogo Janja.

 3. Nandy

Born November 9, 1992, Nandy is a Tanzanian singer and songwriter. She won the All Africa Music Awards in the best female artist in East Africa category in 2017.

Nandy was born in Moshi, Tanzania to Mary Charles, a tailor and Charles Mfinanga, a mechanic. The name Nandy is shortened from her real name Nandera. She started performing at a very tender age. At 5 years of age, she was an active member of her Sunday school choir at KKKT Lutheran church in Moshi. 

She attended Mawenzi Primary School and later joined Lomwe High School where she became the head of the school choir. After high school, she joined the College of Business Education (CBE), Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

She is currently Tanzania’s Goodwill ambassador for UNICEF’s water, sanitation, and hygiene programme (WASH) that works in over 100 countries worldwide to improve water and sanitation services, as well as basic hygiene practices. 

The programme focuses on providing people with clean water and basic toilets. In April 2018, Nandy and Diamond Platnumz were arrested by the Tanzanian government for sharing ratchet content online which breaches the law and culture of Tanzania. The case would later be dropped.

Born December 20, 1987 in Igunga, Tabora Tanzania and raised by a single mom who died at an early age, Zena Yusuf Mohammed known by her stage name Shilole, worked hard to overcome her challenges to one of the most influential artists of her generation in Tanzania

The Tanzanian musician and actress specializes in the R&B, Zouk and new generation Tanzania music popularly known as Bongo Fleva. Shilole is considered one of the top female artists in Tanzania; her works have been nominated 3 times in KTMA, Tanzania’s top music awards nomination. 

Shilole is considered as one of the most influential artist among her fans and is said to be the most loved female artist in Tanzania, the first female artist in Tanzania to clock 1 million followers in Instagram, Tanzania’s most popular social network.

5. Elizabeth Michael (Lulu)

She is a Tanzanian actress.

In 2013, she won the Zanzibar International Film Festival award for Best Actress for "Woman Of Principles" and in August 2017, Africa Youth Awards named her among the 100 Most Influential Young Africans.

In November 2017, Lulu was convicted of involuntary manslaughter for the 2012 death of Tanzanian actor Steven Kanumba and sentenced to two years in prison.

On April 26, 2018, on Tanzanian Union celebration, she was among the prisoners who were pardoned by President John Pombe Magufuli where she was reduced. She was later released on May 9, 2018, after serving seven months in prison to do community services for the remaining time after showing good behaviour while she was in prison.

Michael was alleged to have caused the death of Kanumba, who was 28 years old while Michael was 17 years old. The death was said to have occurred after Kanumba confronted Michael for talking to another man in front of him. Michael was arrested and stayed in remand for almost a year for investigation. Later, the charges were amended to involuntary manslaughter.

6. Jokate Mwegelo

Born on March 20, 1987, in Washington, D.C, where her parents worked. She was raised in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Jokate Mwegelo is an actress and entrepreneur as well as Kisarawe District Commissioner. 

On July 28, 2018, president of Tanzania John Magufuli appointed her as a new District Commissioner of Kisarawe district in Pwani region. 

She is one of Tanzania's young influential entrepreneurs and was named by Africa Youth Awards as among of 100 Most Influential Young Africans in August 2017.

The Tanzanian video vixen found herself in controversy after she reportedly slept with Diamond Platinumz while his husband Zari Hassan was nursing pregnancy complications in South Africa.
