Eric Ngao a former pupil at Leaders Academy in Athi River faced rejection for being epileptic.

He, however, proved that his condition wasn't an inability by scoring a whopping 405 marks in the examinations.

Eric emerged among the top candidates in his class.

The school's administrator Irene Ndirangu said the boy's mother, Edna Ngao visited the institution weeping.

She recalled Edna said her son had been rejected by several schools and she didn't know what to do.

"Edna was heartbroken, she had given up on her son's education until she entered the gates of this school," Ndirangu said.

Ndirangu said the school managed to handle the boy since it has a fully equipped and functional dispensary.

"He has had several attacks but we have been able to attend to him. Eric takes his medicine twice in a day, he's a strong boy who is positive about life despite his condition," added she.

Edna who spoke to reporters at Leaders Academy on Saturday said her son started getting sick when he was in class 1.

She said she had enrolled him to several schools than she could remember where he never lasted a year.

"Eric was mistreated and rejected in several schools due to his condition. Many are the times I was called to pick him from school after he suffered an attack," Edna said.

She said some of the school heads thought his son was faking his condition to avoid learning.
