Estranged Migori Governor Okoth Obado briefly met DP William Ruto at Hilton Hotel before he was arrested by detectives over illegal possession of firearms, it has emerged.
The DP, along with a group of governors attended Development Partners Forum at Hilton Hotel where Governor Okoth Obado got an opportunity to speak about devolution.
Understandably, the two exchanged briefly at the hotel even as the DP left, leaving him behind for lunch at the same hotel.
It's after this that detectives from DCI invaded the hotel and whisked him away to Nairobi Area police station where he refused to record a statement.
The two have been working together lately despite their political parties with Obado hosting him twice in Migori last week before accompanying him to Nyeri early this week.
Already, the second term county boss, who is also facing murder charges, had denied owning the eight firearms recovered from his two homes.
Instead, he says that five of the guns belongs to AP officers manning his Nairobi home, one for the bodyguard, another one for the estranged aide Caspal Obiero and the last one was allegedly recovered from a thug.
