Confirming the bailout, Gor treasurer Sally Bolo on Friday said that the president has purchased air tickets worth Sh6 million for the team to facilitate its travel.

The management of the club was at cross-roads on how it was to settle the Sh8 million travel budget to ensure the players do not miss the match.

Bolo said that they had written to the Ministry of Sports through Football Kenya Federation seeking for financial assistance but their efforts did not bear fruits.

He further said that the players are grateful for the support they received from the head of state, who boarded his flight to the United States of America to meet its President Donald Trump.

Bolo said that they are only left with the task of offsetting the extra Sh. 2 million to facilitate their travel to North Africa.

The team is expected to leave the county on Monday.  Gor needs at least a draw to proceed to the quarterfinals of the competition.

The Kenyan side will also be keen on the outcome of Rwanda’s Rayon Sport against Tanzanian giants Yanga in Kigali.
