The workers led by Moses Nyandusi while speaking in Kisii town on Monday blamed the current human resource manager Rose Ogato for failing to ensure they are getting good payment.

"We will not resume work until the human resource manager is sent home because she has failed to ensure our needs are met. Not even Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i is going to succeed in persuading us to return to work," said Nyandusi.

According to Nyandusi, workers should be enrolled to NHIF scheme, and their salaries be hiked before resuming work.

"Some of us have completed high education courses and we should be awarded by getting good payment. Workers are advised to remain indoors until all our needs are met," he added.

He reiterated that threats that the workers will be sacked and be replaced immediately will not scare them.

"No one is going to sack us because we are demanding for our rights. We have families to take care of and the peanuts we are being paid will not enable us to support our families," he stated.
