But a glimpse on his past life, the DPP has risen through the ranks from being an analyst in the Department of Economic Crimes until his exit in March 2018.

What remains unknown to many Kenyans is the fact that Haji is a seasoned media manager having successfully managed a popular coast-based radio station for at least ten years.

Radio Salaam, which was founded in the year 2006 being an Islamic radio channel, was started by Nordin Hajji. It was also co-owned by his father who is the Garissa Senator Yusuf Haji and his other brother - Abdul Haji.

Radio Salaam is popularly known for its anti-radicalism programs and it often targets some Muslim radical preachers like Sheikh Aboud Rogo who regularly warned his followers against listening to anybody invited to the station as a guest.

At a point, DPP Noordin was criticised for using the radio station for his undercover work.

This was after one of the station's presenters, Mr Habib Suleiman was apprehended over terrorism-related charges.

Radio Salaam has since been sold and is no longer owned by the Hajis.

It was sold in 2016.
