This is after members raided a house and seized an assortment of weapon, drugs and two suspects.

The operation which was undertaken on Thursday evening was led by the local administration and supported by community members.

"Haki Africa urges the regular police to learn from this example. This move is an excellent show of how the security authorities can work together to promote safety and security. It is also a good example of how suspects should be arrested and made to face the law," said the organisation in a statement on Friday.

Led by Executive Director Hussein Khalid, Haki Africa said it will continue to support such lawful means of dealing with insecurity.

"We ask the government to acknowledge and appreciate those who carried out the Old Town raid."
