The management of Nakuru Level 5 hospital is on the spot for failing to produce a patient who disappeared from the facility on Saturday last week.

Julius Waithaka Mwangi 56, was admitted at Nyayo ward 11 bed number 35 on Wednesday last week after he collapsed while at his workplace in Langalanga estate.

Addressing media at the facility on Thursday, medical superintendent in charge Joseph Mburu said that having failed to trace the patient within the facility; they have reported the matter to the police for action. 

“Having failed to trace the patient within the facility; we have reported the matter to the police for action. Initial police action has been to send signals to various police stations after which those who were last to come into contact with the patient will be interrogated,” said Dr.Mburu.

Dr Mburu said CCTV footage will be reviewed to establish how the patient went missing.

Trace Mwangi, a relative of the patient, expressed concerns over the manner in which the hospital was handling the matter.
