On Friday, the defending Champions defeated Sony Sugar 1-0 in a KPL match staged at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu, courtesy of a Jacques Tuyisenge’s 52nd-minute goal.

It was Gor Mahia 15th win in 19 matches this season, with the other four matches ending in draws.

The Champions have amassed 49 points, a massive 15 points ahead of second-placed Sofapaka.

Kogallo, as popularly known by the fans has a game in hand.

The only teams to deny Gor Mahia victory in the league this season are Chemelil Sugar, Sofapaka, Mathare United, and Tusker FC.

The Dylan Kerr led side has scored 46 goals and conceded only 15.

The Club’s leading top scorer this season is Jacques Tuyisenge who has so far scored 10 goals in the league.

He is second on the KPL top scorers chart behind Nzoia Sugar’s Elvis Rupia who has so far put the ball behind the net on 15 different occasions.

Gor Mahia now needs to win 9 games of the remaining 15 matches and they will become champions for the 17th time in history.

In 2015, Gor Mahia spearheaded by midfielders Khalid Aucho and Victor Hassan Ali Abondo and striker Michael Ogada Olunga, won the league title unbeaten after garnering a record 78 points.

Will Kogallo end this season unbeaten?

Well, all indicators point to the fact that it is humanly possible.
