Two lawmakers allied to Malindi legislator Aisha Jumwa have launched an offensive against Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, a day after his humiliation in Malindi.

The team of Michael Kingi (Magarini), and Owen Baya (Kilifi North) now says that Sifuna deserved the humiliation he was treated to on Friday, after Jumwa interrupted his speech for bringing politics into a funeral service at Jilore.

Kingi argues that it was wrong for Sifuna to narrate how the party was forced to expel Jumwa over his links with other parties, yet they have already expelled her, terming it a show of disrespect to her supporters.

“There was no need for him to speak of how they expelled Ms Jumwa or the laws that were used. Aisha Jumwa is no longer an ODM member. What has helped her to cling to the party for a short time is the court," he was quoted by the Nation.

While echoing the remarks, Baya noted that it amounts to disrespect that Sifuna went to Malindi to attack area MP, noting that the party had developed some disrespect for the coastal people, which must be punished in 2022.

“Somebody thinks Coast residents are so easy to confuse during elections. They seduce us with one or two words and then we them vote for them, but in 2022 Coast will decide for itself," he added.

However, Sifuna was later allowed to finish his speech by Mombasa Deputy Governor William Kingi.
