Police in the US are yet to reveal the cause of the death of Norah Jelagat Borus.
Norah, a Kenyan student at Stanford University, died last week under unclear circumstances.
The family has been barred from viewing the body until the police complete their investigations into the matter.
Norah, who was one of the top students in the 2013 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination was discovered dead on June 14 at the university residence.
The student, who was the last born in her family, was about to complete her master’s degree in Computer Science before she met her death. According to the family spokesperson Joseph Maswan, the family’s efforts to view the body of the deceased are yet to bear fruits since they have been asked to remain patient until the probe is complete.
The kin, led by Norah's father Dr Peter Borus has travelled to the US to determine what killed their daughter. It also remains unclear what transpired before she was found dead.
“Norah’s father, Dr Borus, had travelled on Saturday to establish what exactly happened. However, they are still in the dark. They have also not known the cause of her death," said Mr Maswan as quoted by the Daily Nation.
The family will have to wait until Thursday to know more about the cause of Norah's death.
